We have developed a teacher training curriculum and were able to host training sessions for teachers and educational personnel about new techniques of teaching how to read. We believe this will empower teachers in classrooms to teach more effectively.
School Bus Initiative
The focus of our last quarter has been working with local groups to improve bus networks. We believe that it is vital to provide transportation options for children living in rural areas. Thanks to our donors we were able to fund 50 buses and 200 cars that transport children to schools all around the globe.
10,000 Pencils Delivered to Schools
This summer, because of the effort of our volunteers and the generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to deliver 10,000 pencils to children in need. We were able to reach the most unprivileged areas and provide local schools with this vital tool for education.
2019 Mardi Bras VA
We are preparing for our annual Mardi Bras gatherings. Are you? We have updated the Party Kit for 2019, with just a few tweaks and updated dates, etc. Be sure to check it out. We are running a little behind, because our ED’s husband, Louis has been in the hospital for most of December with a complicated femur break and some other complications that went with that. He’s home now and healing slowly… but coming along nicely. Watch for more updates!!!

You can drop off party collections or your own donations at Into The Neighborhood Offices, which are located on the 2nd Floor of All Souls Presbyterian Church. Address: 19 Overbrook Road, Richmond, VA 23222. Enter the building from the parking lot off the alley behind the church. The ramp will lead to a set of double doors. We have a cart located just inside the door. Our offices are located on the 2nd Floor.
